Possible Disney Adaptations Pt. 2 (w/out Princesses)

This time, as you can clearly see from the title, no princesses will be involved in these ideas. So let's jump right in.

Little Red Riding Hood
I am very well aware that this character has been a part of the Disney family since 1934, but I've always thought that this fairy tale deserved its own film production rather than just a Laugh-o-gram and a Silly Symphony. Maybe Disney thinks that it's just too late to pick up on such an old character but personally, I think a project like this is timeless.

How could you say no?

Hansel and Gretel

Again, Disney has made its own short take on this tale through a Silly Symphony. And yet again, I want more! This just so happens to be a bit older than the previous suggestion, having been made public in 1932. C'mon, Disney! We've been ready for almost a century! 

Okay come on, come on, come on, come on; I'm waiting!

Rumpelstiltskin

This one is an ultimate classic. I would really want to see how they turn it into a family-friendly movie from the "first-born stealing and miller's daughter threatened with death" original tale. The only version of this story's title character is on ABC's Once Upon A Time. That's a little too mature for a children's movie.

Yeah... I don't think kids under the age of 13 are going to like this.

Puss In Boots

I know that Disney made a short film of this way back when in 1922. But it was merely a silent film and I think that now they could make an extension at least. Come on! This is some total BS! Dreamworks did it, why can't you Disney? It wouldn't be that hard... It really wouldn't.

Disney... DO IT!

The Pied Piper

Look, Disney made a Silly Symphony out of this, but what I really want to see is a prequel to Peter Pan. They made the sequel, why not a prequel as well? It's never too late to pick up on an old idea dusting on the shelf. How did the Lost Boys come to Neverland? Peter Pan and The Pied Piper are, in fact, the same person.

We're ready, Disney. Get it together!



Possible Disney Fairy Tale Adaptations Involving Disney Princesses

So far, Disney has based most of its movies on fairy tales. Of course, with the exception of modern films such as Brave. But now that I think about it, I should start suggesting some fairy tales I would personally enjoy Disney adapting. I'll begin with possible Disney Princesses and then I'll branch off.


Swan Lake
The story of Swan Lake is quite similar to The Little Mermaid. A woman posing as the heroine in order to sabotage the love between her and her prince. I figured Disney could just make this without the two heroes dying along with the foes. The only movie I know of that made an adaptation was a Barbie film. To me, those don't really do it justice.

Besides, Odette would make such a pretty princess.

The Princess and the Pea

I'm surprised Disney hasn't done this yet. I mean, with all the other Andersen stories they used? This one is a classic! The story is very short and bland so Disney would have very little to work with. Luckily, there have been many modern versions. One of which, includes the princess ordering a servant to take her place while she sleeps in a horse pen to avoid an arranged marriage.

Seeing how they draw out the bed would be fun.

12 Dancing Princesses

This fairy tale actually makes the princesses look like the "bad guys" but I figured Disney could just flip the roles. However, the big pitfall I'm seeing is that I don't think that Disney is ready to conjure 12 different princesses and pile them up into one movie. Just now, they decided to place two instead of one in a movie. The leap from a pair to a dozen would be overwhelming and uncalled for. Again, the Barbie film didn't work for me.

Just think of this... All at once.

Snow White and Rose Red

I think that in order for this film not to cause any confusion with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs is to change the names around. Now that they have recently placed two princesses in the same film it should be of no difficulty other than creating a plot. Or we could just cut off Snow White altogether and focus the film around Rose Red. I didn't like how this story's Snow White married the prince who had been cursed. It really makes Rose Red's outgoing and active personality seem unattractive. Snow White was shy and quiet and therefore the preferable bride. I don't know, I think it promotes the idea that wives are merely there for decoration.

It could even be a live action movie like Enchanted.

One Eye, Two Eyes, Three Eyes

What I like about this is that at the end, the optically impaired sisters begged for forgiveness. I don't know why, but I think that must have stroked little Two Eyes' ego. But, I think the time for fairy god mothers is over so this probably won't go through. It could still happen though...

I will be posting another five fairy tales I would want Disney to translate into screen. Honestly, I would want Swan Lake to be a Disney movie because it just has the most magical aura and what's Disney without magic? Thanks for reading! Don't forget to comment and tell me your opinion.

Frozen Prequel vs. Frozen Sequel

Disney's Frozen has been one of the most successful films in its history and probably one of the most memorable ones I will know in my life time. The uniqueness of the film was what had made it such a hit. A queen who only wants to protect others from her powers. A princess who only wants to reunite with her sister. A seemingly perfect guy. An arrogant loner with only a reindeer for companionship. And a sidekick who knew what to say and when to say it. All in all, awesome.

However, Frozen did leave a lot of questions as to what comes next or where this started. If you noticed in the film, only Elsa happened to have these ice powers. Why don't either of her parents have it? Why doesn't Anna have it? Could this possibly mean that Elsa has an ancestor with similar abilities? Does this mean that Disney is planning a prequel that explains these ideas in depth?

Or could this mean that they're planning a sequel instead? If Elsa could control ice then are there others like her? Could a person like this become a potential love interest for Elsa? I found it strange that such an amazing person was unable to find love in her film. I know it wouldn't be the first time (Duhh... Merida!) but I just felt that she of all people deserved love. Maybe this person with an elemental power could be a second foe. And what about Kristoff and Anna? Will we get to see their wedding? Or will we just pass up the wedding and cut straight to the kids? Maybe one of Anna's children will have ice powers or another element.

Honestly, I would love for both projects to go through. But I wouldn't want the prequel to be a full out movie, I think it would be overdone. The sequel could by all means be a cinematic production. Peter Pan/Little Mermaid Connection

So... I've been thinking of something. I've always sort of thought about it ever since I had grown old enough to notice strange things in the world around me. It started a few years back when I was visiting Magic Kingdom in Orlando, Florida. Particularly when I rode the Peter Pan ride that took you on a tour of Neverland. This "something strange" just so happened to come into view when I saw the Neverland mermaids. And I noticed someone quite familiar.

Now, at the time, I was in competitive swimming and my favorite princess was Ariel because of this fact. So I knew that purple seashells and a green tail are a clear indication that you should look into asking to borrow some gadgets and gizmos. After that, I just shrugged it off. But it came back to me a few weeks ago when I read Josh Butler's Grand Disney Unification Theory. It got my creative juices flowing, and this immediately came to mind. But I thought to myself: Ariel couldn't have possibly come from Neverland, or she would have been mischievous and nothing like the character I had fallen in love with. So I looked deeper.

This seemed to be the only mermaid that resembled the one I had seen on the ride, but it still did not quite make sense. For one, this Neverland mermaid wasn't even wearing seashells. And her hair was orange, not red. As for her tail; blue, not green. I thought this was a cold case until I asked my friend one day about it. And she told me that this mermaid looked more like Ariel's mother than Ariel herself. I thought that was impossible because I had never even seen her mother. So, she introduced me to The Little Mermaid: Ariel's Beginnings; a prequel to the original film. And then I added another piece to the puzzle.

Now it makes sense. Ariel's mother has the bluish tail and the long orangey hair similar to the mermaid in Peter Pan. But still, how could she have made it here if she was originally from Neverland? Well, given my geeky love for fairy tales, I had another reference point: ABC's Once Upon A Time.

I figured since Disney owned ABC then some of the references made here would also apply to other Disney films. I learned here that mermaids have the ability to travel through realms. This explains how Queen Athena came to know King Triton and later had Ariel and her six sisters. I would like to remind that this is, of course, all a theoretical hypothesis. Disney has not leaked any information of the sort and I am merely making connections that I believe to make sense. I would appreciate that you comment and tell me what you think of the idea.
